PREPARATION OF LIBOB BY IMPROVED SOLID-STATE METHOD AND PERFORMANCE OF LOW TEMPERATURE ELECTROLYTE BASED LIBOB

LiBOB was synthesized by an improved solid-state method. Anhydrous H2C2O4 and Li2CO3 was mortared and preheated at 60 ℃ for 2 h, wherein B2O3 (molar ratio of H2C2O4:Li2CO3:B2O3 was 4:1:1) was added in several steps. The resulting mixture was again mortared to ensure full blending of the three ingredients. The mixed raw material was then maintained in a hot blast dryer in two steps: at 70 ℃ for 6 h and 100 ℃ for 3 h, whereby LiBOB with a purity of 99.6% by weight was obtained after two purification steps. Conductivities of the LiBOB electrolyte in various solvents was measured at temperatures ranging from-40.0 to 60.0 ℃. Results showed that the LiBOB electrolyte synthesized via this method had higher conductivities in a wide temperature range, whose performance met the requirements for Li-ion batteries.
