OPTIMIZATION OF LOW COST PROCESS FOR DENSE YSZ THIN FILM ON LSM CATHODE

The high operating temperature of the conventional SOFC can lead to complex materials problems. In order to reduce the operating temperature, adopting electrode supported cells, including anode supported & cathode supported are available. It is wellknown that LSM material could react with YSZ at above 1250 ℃, which limited the development of cathode supported SOFC. In this work, the porous LSM cathode support precursors were fabricated by tape calendering process. Then the YSZ film was prepared by screen printing or/with slurry deposition on the LSM substrate respectively. As a result, the concentration of screen printing slurry has large influence to dense of YSZ. Dense YSZ electrolyte can be easily gotten through adopting screen printing combined slurry deposition method by co-firing at 1250℃. The combined method has large stability than slurry deposition, and is beneficial to get denser YSZ film, and has lower cost than APS and EVD.
