PHYSICAL PROPERTIES OF SOME SUPERIONIC CONDUCTORS IN THE LIQUID STATE
The physical properties of some superionic conducting materials in the liquid phase are presented. In particular, the following topics are discussed. 1) Structural and bonding characteristics of liquid Ag and Cu halides. 2) Anomalous electronic properties of liquid Ag chalcogenides. 3) Static dielectric functions of molten salts. All these studies reveal the importance to investigate superionic materials in the liquid state in order to understand deeply the fundamental materials properties of superionic conductors. By comparing the properties in the solid and liquid phases, some insights to understand the ion transport mechanism can be gained.
