LITHIUM ION CONDUCTION MECHANISM IN LiInI4 STUDIED BY 7Li NMR USING A SINGLE CRYSTAL
Conduction mechanism of the lithium ion in LiInI4 was studied by 7Li NMR using a single crystal. In the case of single crystal 7Li NMR experiment on the monoclinic LiInI4, two pairs of satellite transitions were observed due to the first order quadrupole effect. Above 380 K, these two pairs merged into one pair associated with the motional narrowing phenomenon. This finding directly suggests a site exchange of the Li+ between two crystallographically equivalent sites. The exchange rate was estimated using a simulation of the coalescence phenomena.
