FUTURE-GENERATION ELECTRODE MATERIALS FOR HIGH-POWER Li-ION BATTERIES
A brief account of the recognized future-generation cathodes for high-power lithium ion batteries (LIBs), namely, Li(Co1/3Ni1/3Mn1/3)O2, LiFePO4, LiVPO4F, Li3V2P3O12, and modified-LiMn2O4, and the anodes, namely, (Sn-Co-C) and (Si-M-C) is presented. Use of these electrode materials will satisfy the much needed requirements of high energy-density and safety-inoperation of LIBs for electric/hybrid vehicles (EV/HEV) and portable powertools.
