ELECTROCHEMICAL PERFORMANCE OF (La,Sr)(Co,Fe)O3-δ-(Ce,Sm)O2-θ-CuO COMPOSITE CATHODES FOR IT-SOFC
La0.6Sr0.4Co0.2Fe0.8O3-δ-Ce0.8Sm0.2O2-θ-CuO(LSCF-SDC-CuO) composite cathodes on SDC electrolyte were studied for potential application in intermediate temperature solid oxide fuel cells. Symmetrical composite electrodes on SDC electrolyte calcined at 750-1100 were studied by AC impedance spectroscopy. The LSCF ℃-SDC electrodes with different SDC content were studied, and the electrode with 30 wt% SDC (LSCF-30SDC) exhibited the lowest area specific resistance (ASR). The ASR decreased again by expanding the active triple phase boundary through the application of SDC interlayer between electrolyte and electrode. The optimal calcination temperature and ASR of LSCF-30SDC electrode were decreased greatly by the addition of CuO. The ASR of LSCF-30SDC-CuO composite electrode with SDC interlayer calcined at 800℃ was only 0.058Ωcm2 at 700℃ in air.
