ELECTROCHEMICAL PROPERTIES OF LiFePO4 SYNTHESIZED BY A NOVEL CO-COATINGMETHOD

Carbon coated LiFePO4 particles were first synthesized using oxalic acid as carbom source. Then the LiFePO4/C particles were coated with La0.7Sr0.3MnO3 nanolayer by a suspension mixing process. The microstructures of the synthesized materials were investigated by HRTEM. The electrochemical performance of LiFePO4/C with different La0.7Sr0.3MnO3 contents was studied by electrochemical impedance spectroscopy, cyclic voltammetry and galvanostatic measurements. The results indicated that carbon and 2 wt% La0.7Sr0.3MnO3 co-coated LiFePO4 showed the best electrochemical performance, the electrode delivered a reversible capacity of 122 mAh/g at 1C discharge rate after 45 cycles.
