ELECTRICAL PROPERTIES OF La0.6Sr0.4Co0.2Fe0.8O3-La2NiO4+δ COMPOSITE CATHODE

The thermal expansion, the electrical conductivity and electrochemical properties were investigated in La0.6Sr0.4Co0.2Fe0.8O3-La2NiO4+δ (LSCF-LNO) system composite cathode. No chemical reaction product between the two constituents of LSCF and LNO was detected for the composite sintered at 1400℃ for 4h. A dense structure composing of uniformly distributed constituent phases was observed. It was found that the electrical conducting and thermal expansion properties of the composite cathodes are sensitive to the fraction of LSCF composition. Cathode performances of LSCF-LNO were determined using anode-supported solid oxide fuel cells with thin film SDC/YSZ electrolyte. The power density, 225 mW/cm2 was obtained at 800℃ in 50vol%LSCF-50vol%LNO sintered at 1100℃ for 2hr.
