METHANOL PERMEABILITY AND PROTON CONDUCTIVITY OF COMPOSITE MEMBRANE PVDF-Al2O3
A novel composite membrane was prepared based on the inorganic mesoporous proton conductor Al2O3. The membrane was synthesized using Poly-vinylidene fluoride (PVDF) as backbone. The variation of conductivity with humidity at 30℃ was investigated by ac impendence method. The methanol permeability of composite membrane and Nafion117 was measured using gas chromatography. The results indicated that the composite membrane had significantly less methanol permeabilitiy than Nafion117, which demonstrate its viability for use as electrolyte in DMFC.
