STUDY FOR AQUEOUS TAPE CASTING AND CO-FIRING OF THE NiO/YSZ ANODE AND YSZ THIN ELECTROLYTES FOR PLANAR IT-SOFC
The NiO/YSZ anode and YSZ thin electrolyte for planar IT-SOFC was prepared via aqueous tape casting and co-firing successfully. The formulae of the anode’s and electrolyte’s slurries were optimized. The result present: Graphite as pore-former, Polyethylene pyrrole alkane ketone(PVP) as surfactant, When the pH value of the suspensions was above 9.0 and the amount of dispersant was 0.8wt% of the weight for NiO/YSZ and fine YSZ, the homogeneous microstructure of the green tapes were obtained. PVP act as the function of preventing graphite floating on top form anode’s slurry and homogenizing the graphite in the anode’s slurry. Adjusting weight ratio of coarse YSZ to fine YSZ in anode’s slurry in order to make the sintering shrinkage behaviors of the electrolyte and the anode were well matched. The compound of anode and electrolyte with large size and flat could be prepared sintered at 1450℃ for 2hrs. The cathode (LSM+YSZ) was screen printed on the electrolyte of the compound and then it was sintered at 1100℃, at last the single cell was prepared. The results of analysis for the electric chemical property and microstructure show that the OCV of the cell was 1.1v, with the maximal power density of 800 mW/cm2 at 800℃. The double layers of the compound sintered together closely with electrolyte of 20μm thickness and anode of 500μm thickness. 1.
