POLYMER LITHIUM SULFUR BATTERY WITH A SULFUR COMPOSITE AS CATHODE
S-PPy composite was synthesized as the cathode material for lithium sulfur battery to overcome the insulating problem of the sulfur. The composite cathode material exhibits improved cycling performance over the pristine sulfur cathode. PEO18Li(CF3SO2)2N-10wt%SiO2 composite polymer electrolyte was introduced as a barrier to prevent the dissolution of the polysulfides out of the cathode. The cell with S-PPy composite as cathode and PEO-based polymer as electrolyte present a discharge capacity of 513.6mAh/g at 40th cycle and was stabilized to nearly constant at about 440mAh/g for over 100cycles.
