A NEW LEAD-FREE LOW TEMPERATURE SEALING GlASS
A new Pb-free low temperature sealing glass was developed by the addition of Bi2O3 to borosilicate glass. The effect of addition of Bi2O3 on the thermal properties, viscosity and wettability of the glasses was investigated. The experimental results showed that the thermal expansion coefficient, glass transition temperature, softening temperature, and glass viscosity of the glass increased with the increasing Bi2O3 contents. However, the wettability of the glass on Al2O3 substrate varied little with the addition of Bi2O3.
