Research of the Rosin in Machining Fluid for Electrical Discharge Machining

摘要：

A new emulsion is proposed for electrical discharge machining in this paper. The emulsion is mainly composed of machine oil, distilled water and emulsifiers. In order to improve the discharge energy, the rosin is added to the emulsion as the blasting agent, and its effect on the process performance such as the material removal rate, relative electrode wear ratio and surface roughness has been investigated. In addition, emulsion-1 with 2 wt.% rosin concentration in emulsified oil is developed, and the comparative experiments of EDM performance with kerosene and emulsion-1 have been done.
