Modeling of Workpiece Removal Rate on EOM

Debris distribution and gap length distribution in the gap flow field determine the discharge frequency, and thereby determine the workpiece removal rate. In the paper, based on hydrodynamics and Newtonian mechanics, a mathematical model of solid-liquid medium in the gap flow field was established. Then, the movement of debris in the gap during EDM was analyzed. Subsequently, by using both the results of fluid analysis and the experimental data, the mathematical model of workpiece removal rate during EDM was derived.
