Effect of Feed Velocity on Cutting Characteristics of Polycarbonate Sheet Subjected to a Two-line Wedge Indentation Ezcited by Ultrasonic Wave
This paper describes a pushing-cut process of a piled-up polycarbonate (PC) sheet. In this work, cutting line force of two-line (facets) blade on a laminated PC sheet was measured with a load cell and its cutting deformation was observed by a CCD camera in order to reveal the effect of feed velocity and ultrasonic excitation of blade on deformation flow of the PC sheet. The profile parameters such as inclined angle, elevation angle and necked height of sheared section were observed with respect to excitation modes of the blade by varying the feed velocity.
