Hybrid EDM: Ultrasonic Vibration Assisted EDM Applied to Micro-Holes
In the micro drilling technique, the Electro Discharge Machining has reached some limits in terms of cycle time to drill nozzle holes and guarantee good geometry of these holes. The development of a piezoelectric system allowing assistance on Electro Discharge Machining for diesel and gasoline nozzles production in automotive is a solution to overcome these limits. The idea is to design a system in order to have a high dynamic on the electrode to enhance the performance. Such enhancement will allow new market accessibility and maintain Posalux SA in the automotive injector market.
