Design and Development of a Table Top Electrochemical Micromachining Tool

The objective of this research is to design and develop a table top electrochemical micromachining tool. The developed setup has the capability to change the inter electrode gap (IEG) which will be in the range of 20-50μm. The microcontroller controls the IEG by a stepper motor. The IEG is maintained constant throughout the machining by a closed loop control systeM using a current sensor as a feedback. The tool electrode advances with the resolution of 2 μm along the Z axis. Using the developed EMM setup, micro holes have been drilled in 304 stainless steel workpiece.
