Spatial Disparity on the Strength of Urbanization Response to the Industrial Structure Evolution in Northeast China

This paper regarded the coefficient of urbanization response to the industrial structure evolution as the variable index in measuring the strength of urbanization response to the industrial structure evolution. Through using standard deviation (6), variation coefficient (V), static imbalance deviation (H), relative development rate (Nich), deviation (Di) and ratio (Gj), the author analyzed the spatial disparity on the strength of urbanization response to the industrial structure evolution in Northeast China. Furthermore, this paper discussed the influencing factors for the spatial disparity on the strength of urbanization response. The results indicate that the overall disparity on the strength of urbanization response to the industrial structure evolution of various prefecture level cities in Northeast China increased continuously from 1996 to 2006, and there existed significant tempo-spatial disparities on the strength of urbanization response to the industrial structure evolution among various city regions in northeast China both from static and dynamic, the strength of urbanization response to the industrial structure evolution increased fast in the east northeast China resource-based area and the south northeast China costal area, the disparity between the two regions and the mid-west northeast China increased gradually; urban development intensity, regional investment intensity, regional globalization level had significant positive correlation on the strength of urbanization response to the industrial structure evolution, and urban development intensity was the main factor to promote the strength of urbanization response to the industrial structure evolution in various regions.
