Research on Leisure Economy and Village Community-based Tourism

At present, our country is on the stage of import and application of the theory and method about rural tourism. However, it is more meaningful to apply the relevant theories about leisure economy to the research of rural tourism, for guiding its practice in our country. This paper introduces leisure economy, village community-based tourism and the combination between them. leisure economy, community, rural tourism Dating back to the middle 20th century, rural tourisM originated from developed countries in the West. It began to develop in a large scale in the 1980s. Murphy, the first one who introduced community into tourism, elaborated it systematically. The plan and establishment of village community-based tourism is on the way in our country, but only on its first step. It will be of great help for the tourisM development if we fully understand the effect of leisure economy and village community-based tourism.
