Real-Time Cartoon Style Video Generation
Real-time video abstraction technology can provide a simple, rapid, beautiful visual information-sharing tool. Our paper presents a simple and intuitive realtime cartoon style video generation method—anisotropic difference-of-Gaussian (DoG) line extraction method based on feature-flow, which includes six main parts: importance map calculation, RGB and CIE-Lab color space conversion, fast bilateral filtering with bilateral grid, pseudoquantization, anisotropic DoG, line enhancement technologies. Every step of the algorithm can be conducted via parallel processing on the PC graphics card so we can achieve the effect of real-time processing. As our video extraction is based on anisotropic algorithm, it also resolves the probleM that the extracted lines are stiff and incoherent; this weak point exists in a lot of real-tune video abstraction approaches.
