ACTIVE VIBRATION CONTROL OF BUILDING STRUCTURES USING LATTICE PATTERN CONTROL BASED ON LEARNING ALGORITHM

Active vibration control technique of building structures using lattice pattern control (LPC)employing the gradient descent method (GDM) is proposed in this paper. The training pattern of the LPC is composed of the lattice form of the control force and state vector. The training pattern is obtained by learning rule using the GDM under earthquakes. Trained LPC calculates the control force using the adjacent information of input only, thus the corresponding process is greatly faster. Threestory building under El Centra earthquake is used to train the LPC. Northridge earthquake is used to verify the proposed method. In the numerical simulation of the building structure control, the control results of the LPC are compared with the uncontrolled results. The proposed LPC algorithm can effectively reduce the response of the building structure under earthquakes.
