Cooperative Acquisition Algorithms for New GNSS Signals
New signal patterns and modulations are adopted in the modern GNSS and exhibit some innovative characteristics. Especially, the presence of two components-data and pilot in one composite signal is a significant feature and has provided breakthrough to improve the performance of the acquisition block. In this paper, two cooperative acquisition algorithms, namely non-coherent and coherent cooperation method, are improved and implemented in frequency domain, although the basic principle is from the literature. For each acquisition scheme, the detection probability and false alarm probability, which is known as the Receiver Operating Characteristic, are analyzed and compared based on the maximum search strategy from a statistical view. And then, theoretical results are demonstrated by Monte Carlo simulations with simplified Galileo El signals. The simulation results indicate the feasibility of algorithms and suggest that the coherent cooperation algorithm outperforms the non-coherent cooperation method in the effectiveness.
