Online Leasing for Durable Equipment with Transaction Cost

摘要：

This paper studies a durable equipment-rental problem. Other than the classical ski-rental probleM (Karp 1992), we assume that the decision-maker can sell the used equipment after paying a transaction cost when he no longer needs it. We find that the optimal opportunity of online algorithm with considering the profit selling used equipment is different from that of online algorithm without considering it.
