An Empirical Analysis of Construction Standard Effect on National Economy

Engineering construction standard makes major impact on Chinas economic and social development. The research on the influence of engineering construction standards to GDP and Labor productivity can not only identify whether the effects are positive, but also measure the contribution degree quantitatively. In recent years, standard’s influence on the micro-economies has been studied by some foreign and domestic scholars. But the research on the macro-economies impact hasn’t raised much concern. In terms of technological development, on the basis of Cobb-Douglas production function and econometrics method, the contribution intensity of the engineering construction standard to economic development was measured. As the variables have similar growth trends, Ridge Regression Estimated instead of OLS was introduced on the basis of collinearity test. Eventually suggestions and safeguard measures for promoting the positive effects of engineering construction standard were presented.
