A Critical Review of Construction Project Performance Measurement
Measuring the performance of construction project delivery is an important task for contractors and owners in meeting organizational business objectives. Construction project performance measuring (CPPM) systems are reviewed from two perspectives of traditional CPPM and Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) based CPPM. Tradition CPPM methods include Benchmarking and Balanced Scorecard. DEA-based CPPM method is analyzed at industry, firm, and project levels. The comparison shows that the emerging method of DEA-based CPPM has more advantages than traditional CPPM. Some issues for using DEA method are discussed.
