Reactive Crisis Management in Construction Projects-Role of Safety and Duration

Construction project crisis management generates importance of cost and safety. The fields of crisis management have been evolving separately despite their potential for synergistic integration. Patterns of Safety and Cost emerge within a construction project in response to a construction crisis. The type and number of activities involved in construction projects, the precedence relationships between them, and their estimated costs depend on a multitude of factors. This paper explicates how safety-based and cost-based crisis-controlling can yield a more comprehensive approach to the strategic management of organizations. Examining the differences and similarities in perspectives between safety-based and cost-based crisis-controlling provides a basis to proceed with a synthesis of the two fields. The paper concludes with the presentation of a safety-based and cost-based crisis-controlling model that pushes forward the boundaries of strategic management and internalizes crisis management activities into that process.A comprehensive approach towards crisis management and explores the relation of crisis management to construction.
