The Design of Incentive Schemes Based Alliancing for Projects

Alliancing and its principles have increasingly been introduced to project management to improve the efficiency of project delivery. However, behind its application little research has been undertaken to study the details of incentive schemes that is the heart of alliancing agreement. In this paper, the general critical incentive principles from incentive theory are presents above all, which forms the foundation for the design of incentive schemes based alliancing for projects. Then the incentive criteria and the shares in incentive schemes are addressed, which are direct link between rewards for alliancing members and the final total outcome of the project, through which the alliancing members have more to gain by efficient joint execution than through leveraging their own position via their individual works contract. The guidelines presented here have also been adopted while formatting the present paper. Styles have been defined.
