The Effect of Governance Structure on the Earnings Quality in Real Estate Enterprises: An Empirical Study
According to the research findings both at home and abroad, researchers noticed the corporate governance structure have an important impact on earnings quality while the study which bases on the profession characteristics is not thorough enough. Since the change of accounting standards causes the effect that accounting policy exert on earnings quality, the thesis takes the listed real estate companies’ statistics in the year of 2007 and 2008 as samples, scores the earnings quality comprehensively by factor analysis, then performs a regression analysis on the correlative index of corporate governance structure as well as the scores which have got in the above. The result indicates: controlling shareholders’ equity ratio and earnings quality are nonlinearly related; The shareholding ratio has a remarkable influence in sector of 15%, 40% with the inflection point which is 32%; Stock balance has a positive correlation with earnings quality while board size negatively correlated with it; The impact from two aspects the proportion of independent directors in the board, as well as whether the two position should separate s not prominent on earnings quality.
