The Analysis of “Housing with Informal Property Rightsfrom the View of Transaction Costs
Housing with informal property rights is a unique phenomenon in China, compared with the “housing with formal property rights. Different attitudes of China government to it lead to different transaction costs. Without government intervention, it can save lots of transaction costs, which bring benefits to every principal (except local governments at city and county level).Under the intervention of government, it may face great risks, and can increase some principals’ transaction costs. Based on this, we can say how to solve the issue of “housing with informal property rights largely depends on the attitude of China government.
