Research on the Effect of Integral Joint’s Stiffness on Steel Truss Bridge
Welding integral joint widely applied in recently years is a new joint type for steel truss bridge. Its stiffness is between the pin joint and the rigid joint. Joint stiffness has great effect on the inner force and stress distribution of the bridge structures. Take Dongjiang bridge as a case study, the finite element models of the pin joint and the rigid joint are conducted and the effect of the joint stiffness on the inner force and stress of the bridge are quantitative obtained. The results show that rigid joint can decrease 10%-15% of the whole structures deflection. And the effect of joint rigidity on the stress of the beam members can not be ignored.
