The Evaluation and SWOT Analysis of Island Tourism Resources-A Case Study of Zhou Shan Archipelago in Zhejiang Province
With rich resources and unique scenery, islands are ideal tourist destinations. This means that they have a high tourism value and a bright development potentiol. Island tourism can help vitalize an islands economy and create jobs for the inhabitants. The benefits from tourism can encourage an islands economy to develop and overcome limitations with terrain, isolation and lack of resources etc. Firstly, this paper introduces current domestic and foreign island tourism status. It will then evaluate the tourism resources within Chinas largest archipelago-Zhou Shan archipelago in Zhe Jiang Province and bring forward SWOT (strength, weakness, opportunity, threat) analysis of its tourisM industrys development. After that, based on the investigation of present Zhou Shan archipelago tourism resources and environment, strategies and suggestions are proposed to ensure the industry will continue to develop successfully.
