摘要：

1 Background The average natural annual runoff of the Yellow River is 58.0 billion m3. The average annual sediment transport is 1.6 billion tons with an average concentration of 35 kg/m3. The maximum measured sediment concentration reached 941 kg/m3 at Xiaolangdi gauging station in 1997. Both the total amount of sediment transport and the average concentration are the biggest in the world.
