The Study on Economic Operation of Well Groups in Water Source Areas along the Lower Yellow River

There are two primary ways of water withdrawal from Yellow River, one is withdrawal from ground surface, and the other is from underground of riverside areas, the latter one not only improves water quality by making use of the process of penetration of surface water through water-bearing media, but also makes the exploitation more rational by using the adjustment of groundwater storage, meanwhile, it settles the problem of sediment deposition while drawing water from ground surface. As projects on drawing water from underground of riverside at source areas on the lower Yellow River have been under construction in Henan and Shandong provinces, with increasing production, it is necessary to evaluate the pumping risk of groundwater resources to develop water resources rationally, and carry out the optimal dispatching of deep-well pump group in Water Source Area to realize economic operation. This paper adopt multi-objective decision-making algorithms, and fully consider the layout of deep-well pump group, flux, groundwater level, operating costs and other factors, to justly distribute water withdrawal, then limit the development and utilization of groundwater resources in the range supported by natural and ecological system to achieve the maximum economic benefit with minimum side effects. Calculations show that the multi-objective decision-making algorithms have the advantages of flexible and high search efficiency, and besides, it offers better solutions.
