Preliminary Study on Ecological Water Demand of the Offshore Marine Area Adjacent to Yellow River Estuary Based on Ecosystem Health
In this paper, based on the offshore marine area adjacent to Yellow River estuary ecological monitoring data from 2002 to 2006, the structure function method is used to assess the state of ecosystem health for the quantitative evaluation and the establishment of the Yellow River estuary adjacent sea water. A model to reveal the relationship of water quality of the inflow water to sea, ecosystem health index of the offshore marine area and the quantity of runoff into sea is set up, and then the minimal ecological water demand of Yellow River estuary adjacent sea water is calculated based on ecosystem health. The results show that the Yellow River estuary ecosystem health status has shown decreasing trend from May 2002 to August 2005. In 2002 and 2003, the Yellow River estuary coastal ecosystem held in the sub-health status; and 2004, 2005, the coastal waters ecosystem of the Yellow River estuary held in an unhealthy condition. Under different water healthy conditions (III, IV or V) of inflow water to sea, to keep the Yellow River estuary s adjacent sea ecosystem healthy, the minimal runoffs of ecological water demand are 55. 67 mVs, 66. 01 mVs and 289. 45 mVs respectively.
