Buffer Strip Construction in South-to-North Water Diversion Project
Buffer strip construction technologies are investigated for the problems of soil erosion and pollution along the lines of the south-to-north water diversion project. Under the guide of buffer strip construction philosophy and based on the relevant research achievements in and outside China, three construction technologies, grassed waterway, protective hedge and contaminant attenuation zone, are proposed, the effect of soil and water conservation and purification mechanism in the ecological remediation process are analyzed, and a suitable buffer strip system for the south-to-north water diversion project is built, achieving such goals as guaranteeing the quality of the diverted water, afforesting and beautifying environment and developing the economy along the lines of the project.
