Ethic for Rivers Natural Life: Significance of the Times, Methodological Principle and a Preliminary Conclusion
The rivers life is a new concept. The concept conforms to the need of the time development of the 21th century, and embodies the changes of the time sense as following: ① It conforms to the transformation of human life-death view. ②It conforms to the transformation of the mass movement view. ③It conforms to the transformation of the views of the science and technology. ④ It conforms to the transformation of the philosophy in our times. ⑤ It conforms to the transformation of the culture view. In the background of the times, the concept of the river s life is provided and expounded in order to aim at pushing our senses of Human/Nature relationship turning toward the ideas of the ecological civilization era and the process of environmental revolution. We give a definition of the river s natural life on the basis of holistic ecological philosophy. We, select three typical theory viewpoints as the starting conditions in the definition; ①the theory of biosphere life activity. ②the holistic of essential factor of organic system . ③the theory of autonomic organization of organic systeM evolution. This way of the holistic and evolutionisM definition, seek the macroscopic characteristic of our research object-rivers natural life and the evolution process as a whole, which is able to reflect the essential of the object and the way of the object existence, is an essential different from the definition of the reductionism of the traditional natural science, which explains the objective existence of the object-rivers natural life from the essential property of our research object. This new methodology, is not only anthropocentric, but also non-anthropocentric, rather is the theory of the cooperation and evolution between human-river relationships. In the end, the article gives eight the preliminary conclusion of the research on the concept of river s natural life.
