Study on Multifactor Comprehensive Control Mode Based on Regulation and Utilization of Runoff
The base small watershed, contents and characteristics of existing control modes of the hilly and gullied areas in the Loess Plateau are discussed in this paper. Relying on Yanwachuan Watershed, the multifactor comprehensive control mode based on regulation and utilization of runoff was firstly proposed during the construction of Qijiachuan Demonstration Project and Yanwachuan Project, which were two ecological construction projects for water and soil conservation in the Yellow River Basin. This mode is to establish a perfect system for regulation and utilization of runoff and sediment, by taking catchment unit as runoff regulation unit, regulation and utilization of runoff on plateau surface as the central task, regulation of runoff and sediment in gullies as support, and regulation of slope runoff as supplement. According to the characteristics of the landforms such as plateau, slope, gully and riverway in the hilly and gullied areas of the Loess Plateau, 20 normal forms for regulation and utilization of runoff and sediment have been put forward. By integrating these normal forms with the existing control modes, analysis and evaluation are made in aspects of control area and key places of control, as well as measures, characteristics and goals of prevention and control. This control mode has been widely popularized in the ecological construction in the Yellow River Basin and outstanding achievements have been made thereof.
