Scientific Utilization of the Yellow River Sediment to Conserve Land Resources and Protect Ecological Environment
The paper mainly analyzes the sedimentation arrangement of downstream river in the 1950s, 1960s～1980s and after the 1990s, and the hazard resulted from sedimentation in river course, channel and river mouth. On the basis of main measures of interception, discharge, delivering, regulation and scouring, the measures of utilizing sediment are analyzed in following aspects: Depositing the ditches along the inner bank to harness the two-stage suspended river, strengthening the dikes by sedimentation, filling salty lowland and improve the soil; Producing bricks and constructing components by sediments, and land-making by sea reclamation and create conditions for land and oil development. The implementation of all the measures above not only tackles the problem of sedimentation, but also saves the land resource, protects the environment, and improves the sustainable development of the local society.
