Study on the Construction of Yellow River Water-sediment Regulation System from a Prospective of Maintaining the Healthy Life of Yellow River
This paper, regarding the natural characteristics of Yellow River that there exists an inconsistent relationship between water and sediment, i. e. less water but more sediment, as the main contradiction to address issues in Yellow River Basin, analyzes current health status of Yellow River from severe river siltation, shrinking of main channel, being unsmooth of flood discharge and sediment transport passage and being diverted of ecological environment water in the watercourse. It analyzes the future water-sediment variation from increasing water and reducing sand, puts forward that coordinating water-sediment relationship is a critical approach to maintain the healthy life of Yellow River. It also, from a view of maintaining flood discharge for ice transport, sediment transport and ensuring low-limit flow in channel, analyzes the demand of the healthy life of Yellow River on water-sediment regulation system, defines the overall layout and operation objective for Yellow River water-sediment regulation system, which constituted with Daliushu, Qikou and Cuxian reservoirs in main stream and built Hekoucun and Dongzhuang reservoirs in branches, Wanjiazhai and Haibowan reservoirs in the main stream as a supplement.
