Research of Durability of the Concrete in Marine Environment
Reinforced concrete is one of the most widely used materials in various types of engineering structures. Due to the erosive effect of the natural environment, the material properties of the reinforced concrete will continue to weaken, leading to local damages in the concrete and performance deterioration of the structures. The mechanism of the chloride corrosion of reinforced concrete, particularly the chloride s ingression in concrete, in marine environment is studied in this paper. The suggestions to improve the performance and the durability of reinforced concrete structures in marine environment are also given.
