Harmony, Coincidence and Symbiosis-Primary Ideology on Rivers Ethical Value
River civilization is the cradle of human civilization, the rise of the four major ancient civilizations-the Nile civilization, the Euphrates and the Tigris River civilization, Indus civilization, the Yellow River civilization are closely linked with rivers. Lost modern civilization creates the river crisis, the cruel facts of the river crisis are warning us to carry out the complex study through the coupling of natural and social sciences to find an essential solution of the problem. The human-centered and non-human-centered scholars of the western environmental ethics for the relations of man and nature often have the inherent deficiency with the apparent western subject-object split, which breaks the inherent unity of human beings and the natural environment including rivers, and can not be found of a good thinking support to solve the river crisis. The proposed rivers ethics have found a new way out for breaking the difficult problem of the river crisis. Chinese culture with a long history and contains a wealthy thinking of environmental philosophy, of which the thinking of Harmony, Coincidence and Symbiosis, has a certain significance for the cognition of the value elements of river ethic, and the construction of the new relationship between human beings and rivers.
