The Ezperience and Revelation of Australian Water Resources Management
Oceania is the driest continent in the world. The current Australian water resources situation is overall scarcity, uneven distribution of precipitation in different regions, as well as uneven distribution in different seasons and years. In order to ensure sustainable development, Australia government formulates a water resources management system of perfect laws and rules, emphasizing on public participation as well; forms a more regulated water market and a water pricing mechanism in the water rights trading field; forms a relatively mature set of technologies for recycle water collection, processing and storage. Referencing on Australian experience and technologies in water resources management, the author suggests strengthening propaganda to the public of the importance of water saving, enacting the Yellow River Law as soon as possible, quickening the implementation of water right transfer, implementing the unified management of water resources; adjusting the water price and carrying out the research of water reuse.
