Study of Using Spiral Flow to Discharge the Reservoir Sedimentation
Reservoir sedimentation to be discharged by using the spiral flow has been analyzed in this paper, with the special spiral flow, discharging the reservoir sedimentation out of the dam to remove the sediment, through the Special Flow Absorb Head, Universal Joint, and Spiral flow pipe etc. The paper studies rotation starting of sediments, distribution characteristics of solid grains, velocity distribution, and transportation of sediment in spiral pipe flow. Four kinds of grain moving form can be found in pipe of local rotating equipment, and the track, of grain shows circle in the cross section, distribution of tangential velocity present a line form and distribution of axial velocity shows M type form, and the last, the water head loss about transporting sediment is discussed. The paper analyzes the possibility of using spiral flow to discharge reservoir sedimentation.
