Research on the New Way of Sediment Treatment in the Downstream of the Yellow River
The reason why the Yellow River is called Sorrow of China is that the Yellow River is a river with much sediment. We can say that the problem of the Yellow River will be solved easily if the problem of sediment can be solved. Since people began to harness the Yellow River, comprehensive treatment measures on sediment of intercepting, draining, releasing, regulating, digging has been taken, and has got important achievement, but the problem of sediment has not been solved thoroughly. This paper s research on sediment treatment new ways is using, that is to make full use of the floodplain sediment of the lower Yellow River, develop brick making industry greatly, use extracting sediment boat to mine the coarse sediment particle in main channel to the bank, and use the sediment as construction materials. According to preliminary analysis, about 0.166 billion tons of floodplain sediment and 17.57 million tons of sediment in main channel can be treated in the area of Henan province every year. This measure can not only treat a great deal of sediment, but also save much cultivated land, about 118.6 thousand mu every year.
