Review of Sand Wave Characteristics in Steady Uniform Flow
Firstly, the introduction of bed forms characteristics, the relationship of bed forms parameters (i. e. sand wave length, height and steepness etc.) and flow identity (Fr number, Reynolds number etc.) is discussed; then the study on bed formation reason, especially wave resonance vibration and loss of stability of laminar flow are emphasized. At last this paper points out that the statistics methods for sand wave dimension and advanced measuring technologies such as particle image velocimetry (PIV) used to contrast flow in different roughness for getting the further research, are the focus of future study on sand wave and flow interaction relationship.
