Study on the Mathematical Model of Non-steady Water-sand Movable Ben of Sedimentation Reservoir

Based on the river dynamics and sediment movement, the quasi two-dimensional sedimentation model is established to simulate the relationship between the turbulent mixing in flowing water and sand movement. The model which is constructed on the basis of sand continuity equation and riverbed deformation equation has overcome the deficiency in the former theory, in which, the formulas for calculating the sand carrying capacity of flow, dynamic tough force of movable bed, sediment motion and exchange, sediment composition are more accurate and reliable. The scour and silting change, water level change, sediment composition change, sediment concentration change along the main canal and channel adjustment of the model have been checked according to the documents measured from 1994 to 1999 of Sanmenxia Reservoir, which have laid a scientific basis for the study of sedimentation reservoir operation mode.
