Inspirations for China on Water Resource Management from the Murray-Darling Basin Agreement

摘要：

The Murray-Darling Basin is located in Australia and is famous for its basin management experience. The paper introduces the general situation of the Murray-Darling basin in brief at first, then describe the history process of the Murray-Darling Basin Agreement and the basin management development after 1987 when the Agreement was signed by the governments of the Commonwealth, New South Wales, Victoria and South Australia. For example, the Murray-Darling Basin Initiative, Nature Resources Management, the Murray-Darling Cap, Water Trading and the National Landcare Program. In the end, the paper introduces the water resource management situation in China and summarizes some inspirations for China on water resource management from the history process of Murray-Darling Basin Agreement and the corresponding basin management experience.
