Analysis of Water-Salt Transport and Balance in the Yellow River Irrigation District
Yichang irrigation sub-district of the Hetao irrigation district (Inner Mongolia, China) is selected as a research area. The groundwater plays an important role in this region, which is not only an important source of water for domestic and industry, but also the key factor of salinization of the soil. In addition, Hetao irrigation district has many unresolved problems, such as groundwater worsen, low irrigation efficiency and salinization, which are related to the efficient use of water resources in this region. Therefore, to deal with the limited groundwater resources rationally and protect theM efficiently, mastering the transformation of water and salt in the irrigation process has important significance in practice. The water and salt balance models of nonfarming area and farming area were established, and the quantitative analysis result was given finally, which may offer a reference to efficient use groundwater resources, protect groundwater quality, and prevent the salinization of this area.
