Sand filter used in domestic wastewater treatment
Domestic wastewater treatment by sand continuous filter has been studied in a bench scale test. The results indicate that this technology is feasible, and the effluent water quantity is better. The contents of effluent suspended solids (SS) and total phosphorus (TP) is both meet with first standards of urban sewage treatment plant pollutant discharge standard of China. And the removal efficiency of SS, COD, NH4+-N and TP is 84%～92%, 58%～74%, 46%～53% and 64%～87%, respectively. The experimental study showed that sand filter on domestic wastewater treatment is feasible.
