Sustainability in urban infrastructure-tool, retention ground filter
Retention soil filters become more and more very important tools in sustainable infrastructure urban planning. They are ecologically important mechanical-biological rainwater treatment units with detention functions. They are usable for all kinds of development measures in urban and rural areas. They need more space, however, the total sewage treatment capacity and its ecological significance is much better compared to the traditionally used rainwater treatment processes. The cleaning capacity corresponds to precipitation and filtration or precipitation and flotation. In view of water quality improvement, erosion control, drift prevention and discharge infiltration and/or hydraulic stress prevention ground filters can be regarded as multifunction systems. Retention ground/soil filters are most important as an ecological compensation measure. They are to be regarded as landscaping elements and are as such easily integrated into the environment.
